The Driftwood Inn, Mexico Beach, FL

A fantastic Gulf Coast destination for sitting enthusiasts is the Driftwood Inn at Mexico Beach, FL.

Nestled right on the white sand of the Gulf of Mexico, the Driftwood Inn has a very Bed and Breakfast feel with each room furnished with antiques.

So the sitting enthusiast can elect to sit in an adirondack chair and bask in the sun, or enjoy the shade of the covered swings - all with a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico.

This is the perfect environment for the casual sitter that likes to read or just rest for a minute and drink in the surroundings or even the more dedicated sitter that just wants to sit for the afternoon.

If that was not enough, beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented from the inn for the sitting enthusiasts who prefers being on the sand which makes for the perfect scenario for the enthusiast that is a combination sitter/recliner. The reclining beach chairs provide the ideal situation for the enthusiast wanting to take a nap in the sun.

Of course, the rugged sitting enthusiast can sit on the sand with their toes in the water. Sitting enthusiasts can also purchase short beach chairs from the local grocery store.

The inn also has a Tea Room with several tables and chairs which makes for a great place to sit and watch television with a view of the beach even on a rainy day.

Open 9am until 7pm on Tuesdays through Sundays from April through October, 9am until 5pm November through March, the Atlanta Botanical Garden is full of great places to sit and watch people, enjoy the garden, listen to birds, etc.

The Hardin Visitor's Center is the starting point of one's visit to the Garden just a short walk from the parking deck. The second floor balcony is an excellent place to sit. Through out the garden, the sitting enthusiast will find creative and unique places to sit. In some places, a visitor may get to sit with a piece of sculpture.

The Levy Parterre provides an ideal place to sit and enjoy the spectacular fountain adorned with the work of renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly, a view of the Atlanta skyline, and a distant view of the rose garden.

These are just a few places one can find to sit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. There is a cafe' in the Garden, "MetroFresh in the Garden", which offers indoor and alfresco dining and bills itself as "the perfect place to relax and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner made from the freshest ingredients." Some exceptional sitting should take place there daily.
